Artificial intelligence? You're in danger, girl.
From her post at the head of *The View*'s Hot Topics table, Whoopi Goldberg has criticized a recent wave of celebrities who've urged others to embrace the rise of AI — including her *Ghost* costar Demi Moore.
After the daytime talk show played Thursday morning a clip of several stars urging others to embrace understanding AI — including Moore, Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Aniston — Goldberg staunchly stood against anyone pushing others to endorse AI if they're not ready to.
Goldberg summarized the topic with help from a new article in *The Cut*, which she said included a "warning against the way prominent female entrepreneurs and entertainers are urging women to embrace the new technology," before playing a clip of Moore saying at Cannes in May that "to fight [AI] is, in a sense, to fight something that is a battle that we will lose" in Hollywood.**

The EGOT winner — who scored her Oscar for her role opposite Moore in the 1990 hit *Ghost* — confirmed that she doesn't use AI at all.
"I go out and I talk to people, and I do stuff that I understand. I understand when something comes in like a car and a horseless carriage. It's great and it isn't great," the 70-year-old said. "I don't want anybody telling me that I have to lean in to keep up with her. I need what I need, and I'm going to find the way that I need to get in there. This rush to push? I don't like being pushed the way I feel like I'm being pushed, because people want us to get on top of it."
Goldberg maintained that, "You should've pushed me two years ago when you first started really looking at it and realizing this was something I needed to do. So, in my own time, I will get to it. It's great for us, and it's not great for us. It's like the internet."
** has reached out to Moore's representatives for comment.

Goldberg's criticism came over a year after the *Ghost* stars reunited at the 2025 Oscars, where Moore was lauded with her first Best Actress nomination for her critically celebrated turn in the body-horror hit *The Substance*.
Earlier in *The View* discussion, cohost and legal expert Sunny Hostin said she's a hardcore AI user, and joked that she has her "Ph. D in ChatGPT" and that her "therapist" and "marital counselor" is ChatGPT.**** "I think AI is a learning technology, and it is as stupid as it will ever be right now, so now is the time to get on board and learn how to use it," Hostin, 57, said, though 63-year-old guest cohost and tech journalist Kara Swisher pushed back, telling her that "men are making all the rules about it" and to be cautious as a result.
Goldberg has long warned *The View* audience about AI, including when she warned viewers about the Amazon Alexa device during a 2023 live show.

Whoopi Goldberg speaks about AI on 'The View'.
"You know she is listening. I don't want her in the house," Goldberg said at the time. "I don't want anything that is smart enough to lock me out of my house, I don't want anything that won't let me drive my car. When you watch science fiction, it's right there. They tell you: this is the future."
Other stars have also weighed in on the rise of AI, including Sandra Bullock, who recently said that Hollywood will eventually “have to lean into” AI in a series of comments that drew criticism from many, with singer Dionne Warwick eventually mocking Bullock's words in a social media post.

Some sects of the entertainment industry have tackled AI head-on, including the aforementioned Aniston's *Friends* costar Lisa Kudrow, whose third and final season of the HBO comedy *The Comeback* entirely revolved around a story about the dangers of AI writing an entire sitcom.
*The View *airs weekdays on ABC.
