Shawn and Marlon Wayans had hoped to say "wazzup" to Whoopi Goldberg on the set of Scary Movie — but, as the writer-producers of the satirical film series revealed Thursday on *The View*, Goldberg declined a cameo in the newest installment.
The brothers appeared on the live talk show to promote *Scary Movie*'s Friday release, and fielded a question from the cohosts about which stars they wanted — but ultimately didn't get — for cameos in the movie.
The pair said that they reached out to rapper Cardi B, though her cameo ultimately didn't happen, while Goldberg turned to them to ask, "Anybody I know?"
Shawn replied, "She's talking about her!" while Goldberg turned toward the audience and flashed a wink.
"We called you, we wanted you!" Marlon maintained, while Shawn asked, "You didn't get our call, Whoopi?"
Shawn then turned toward his brother, reminding him that they had a particular scene in mind that the Oscar-winning *Ghost* actress.

"I hung up before I realized it was you. Oh, snap!" Goldberg joked, before telling the filmmaking duo that she'd entertain the thought of a cameo the "next time" they call if *Scary Movie* gets another sequel.
Shawn and Marlon re-teamed for the latest chapter in their hit comedy series, which they initially departed after 2001's *Scary Movie 2.*
Longtime series stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall also returned for the sixth film in the series, after they, too, sat out for 2013's *Scary Movie 5.*
As part of* ***'s cover story on their return to the series, Faris and Hall explained why they didn't return for *Scary Movie 5* as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, respectively.

"One of the big things too for us, always, we always felt like if the other is there, we could do it. That's what happened in the *Scary Movie* before this. We both didn't do it," Hall told EW, confirming that they wouldn't do the film if the other didn't reprise her role, too. "I was like, if we both don't do it, it doesn't feel right to have one without the other. They're like a Laverne and Shirley of their day."
*The View* airs weekdays on ABC. *Scary Movie* opens in theaters Friday.
