Travis Kelce had the inside scoop on his brother Jason Kelce’s proposal to Kylie Kelce, but it didn’t exactly pan out the way he’d been told.
On Friday, Feb. 6, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end appeared as a guest on his sister-in-law’s Not Gonna Lie podcast where he shared some of his older brother’s original plans for popping the question to his future wife.
“I knew more about the details of what he wanted to do than I did about him telling me the details of how he actually did it, if that makes sense,” Travis shared.
“You don’t know what happened. You know what was supposed to happen,” Kylie clarified.
Travis then shared a key piece of information about Jason’s proposal plan, which never came to fruition.
“He was supposed to serenade you,” Travis told a shocked Kylie. “You didn’t hear this?”

“What the f---? What? I’m sorry, what?” the mother of four gasped.
Travis, who announced his engagement to Taylor Swift in Aug. 2025, said that Jason informed him of a memorable exchange between Kylie’s parents involving singing, which he believed was the inspiration behind the musical proposal plan.
“I thought he was going to serenade you and be outside the house, and you were going to hear him singing and he was going to come out,” Travis explained. “I thought I remembered hearing that from him. Looking back on it now, that was never going to happen, I don’t think.”

Kylie shared that the retired NFL star did pop the question “on the front lawn of my parents’ house,” adding in a few additional details on what went down.
“He went inside. I thought he had to take a s---,” she quipped. “He came back out within two seconds, which if you know your brother, that’s not how long that takes. He went in to ask [my parents] Ed and Lis their permission. And it was a quick ask, ‘cause of course they were like, ‘Yeah.’ ”
During the interview, Travis also praised Kylie for turning Jason into a “team player.”

“I had never seen him, one, be so into someone,” Travis said of Kylie. “But also, I had never seen someone be able to kind of control the bear… and him, like, not immediately fight back about it. Obviously, he has his ways of being Jason and doing things his way, but at the same time, you gave him a reason to team up and he’s the best team player in the world.”

Kylie shares four daughters, Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 10 months, with Jason. The pair tied the knot in 2018.
“You were the first person I’ve seen actually want to team up with and respect their opinions,” Travis told his sister-in-law. “You’re really the only one still to this day.”
