On Feb. 6, the pop star released the visuals on Spotify and Apple Music four months after the single debuted on The Life of a Showgirl in October

Taylor Swift is living the life of a '90s girl in the music video for "Opalite."
The singer, 36, released the visuals for the Life of a Showgirl single on Feb. 6, and it's no surprise that she pulled all the stops when it came to her wardrobe.
Fans may not even recognize the Grammy winner, who chose to ditch her recognizable blonde hair for a shoulder-grazing brunette lob with with bangs. But the makeover is what really added to the style nostalgia, which was brought to the screen with a slew of old-school outfits.

Glitter tracksuits, cat crewnecks, aerobics apparel and some grunge-inspired looks bring the vibes back to a time bygone, which is exactly what Swift intended to do.
Alongside a series of stills shared to Instagram, the pop star thanked all of her costars for traveling "back to the '90s" to film the video. She also confirmed some of the familiar faces, from celebrities to "friendly faces from The Eras Tour," who took part in the project.
Swift shared that the inspiration came when she appeared on The Graham Norton Show in October 2025. Her co-guests — Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Domhnall Gleeson, Lewis Capaldi, Cillian Murphy alongside Norton — have a cameo in the spunky video, available to watch as a Spotify Premium and Apple Music exclusive.

"I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on The Graham Norton Show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too. Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory," she wrote.
"I had more fun than I ever imagined - Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters."

"Opalite" debuted as one of the 12 tracks in The Life of a Showgirl and was inspired by the gemstone its named after — which, she revealed, is metaphorical and, in part, a dedication to her fiancé Travis Kelce.
“I had written down the word opalite because I learned that it’s actually a man-made opal, like opal can be man-made, just like diamonds, and so, Travis birthstone is opal,” she said in an interview with with Capital Official Radio.
“I’ve always fixated on that; I’ve always loved that stone. I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor that it’s a man-made opal, and happiness can be man-made, too. That’s kinda what the song is about, the juxtaposition of those two.”
