People are just finding out Off Campus star inspired one of Reneé Rapp's most heartbreaking songs

The latest Amazon Prime show, Off Campus, has become all the internet talks about in the past weeks.
Based on a book series by Elle Kennedy, the first season of the show follows Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), a star college hockey player and music student, and Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) as they strike a deal to fake-date while Hannah tutors Garrett to make Hannah's crush jealous.
Though Garrett and Hannah are the show's main couple, other characters have emerged as fan favorites, including Hannah's best friend Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Garrett's teammate Dean DiLaurentis (Stephen Kalyn), whose relationship will be the focus of season two.

While this is a breakout role for many of the show's actors, there's one who the public might know, but wasn't aware of. Antonio Cipriano, who portrays hockey athlete John Logan, might not look familiar, but he dated singer Reneé Rapp for two years.
Antonio and Reneé both came up in the Broadway world, with the former starring as Regina George in the Mean Girls musical and the latter in the Alanis Morrisette jukebox musical, Jagged Little Pill. The two started dating in 2019, posting videos singing together.
The Off Campus star even made an appearance in The Sex Lives of College Girls, an HBO Max series Reneé had starred in. Then in 2021, the couple went their separate ways.

A year later, Reneé's lead single, In The Kitchen, off her first EP, Everything to Everyone, was released. The song appeared to be about her breakup with Antonio.
In the song's chorus, the 26-year-old sings, "I'll dance with your ghost in the living room/and I'll play the piano alone/but I'm too scared to delete all our videos/'cause it's real once everyone knows."

Non-Broadway fans of Off Campus are recently just finding out about Reneé and Antonio's relationship. TikToks are being posted with fans captioning their video, "Am today years old when I found that Renee Rapp and the actor for John Logan dated and she hates him + wrote this song about him [skull emoji]."
Many agreed in comments, with one writing, "What the actual f--k have I been missing." Another added, "TELL ME MORE WHAT," to which someone responded, "Girl idk I just found out [about] this a day ago was just as shocked as you."

However, big Broadway fans appeared to be shocked that there were people who didn't know of the relationship. "We are losing the ancient texts," one wrote.
"Where have y'all BEEEEEEEEN????" Another penned.
The former couple has moved on, as Reneé has been dating singer-songwriter Towa Bird since 2024 and Antonio is dating Justine Verheul since 2023.
