Nicholas Galitzine opened up about his decision to stop drinking in an appearance on Jake Shane's Therapuss on Friday, June 5.

The actor appeared on the influencer's podcast amid the release of his latest film, Masters of the Universe, in which he stars as beloved action hero He-Man.

After Galitzine, 31, recounted his experience at the 2024 Met Gala to Shane, 26, the influencer said that the actor did not strike him as "a big party guy" when asking if he went to any Met Gala after-parties following his Met debut.

"I don't drink anymore," Galitzine replied, to which Shane asked if he was sober.

"Yeah, since COVID," the Red, White, & Royal Blue star shared.

"Oh wow, good for you," Shane answered.

"It's not like...that," Galitzine said, to which Shane interjected, "Congratulations," as the actor laughed.

"It's not like that," the The Idea of You star reiterated.

"Oh —  you just were like 'I'm over it?'" Shane asked.

"Yeah, I was drinking a lot in COVID," Galitzine explained, adding, "I'm kind of better for it."

Galitzine recently opened up about prioritizing his health amid the rigorous training that went into his role in Masters of the Universe, for which heate 5,000 calories a day to "pack on as much size as possible."

"It was an every day a week thing," Galitzine told E! News about his intense training routine. "It was a pretty short amount of time. You kind of would love to live in this character for a year beforehand, but the training very much changed as the movie went on."

"It wasn't mentally difficult. I was so mentally ready to eat something disgusting," Galitzine told PEOPLE at the film's world premiere in Los Angeles on May 18. "I want to say I had a combination of sushi and pizza, and I just was like, 'Give it. Give it all to me.' So no, it wasn't hard to go there. Given the fact that my next director did not want me to look like He-Man for his movie, he said, 'Eat as much as you want and stop working out.' "

Masters of the Universe is currently in theaters.
