Melanie "Mel B" Brown is ready to put a new spin on a beloved Spice Girls song.
While leading an intimate Zumba class at SXSW in London on June 2, the singer, 51, who rose to fame as Scary Spice in popular group, spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her love of dancing for health and fitness.
Brown revealed there's a "fun" Spice Girls song that if could work well for a Zumba class if remixed.
"Oh God, well, we just actually remixed… me and Emma [Bunton] went over to Korea and we did two of our songs in K-pop style that were 'Wannabe' and 'Say You'll Be There,' " Brown told PEOPLE. "But I'd be really interested to see what 'Who Do You Think You Are' would sound like in a Zumba remix because that's quite disco-y, so it sounds quite different."

Brown emphasized that when it comes to dancing to keep fit, there's no need to overthink what song to choose.
"I think any kind of dance or pop song can be adapted to Zumba," she said. "It's not like it's going to be that different, like a K-pop or a drum and bass or like a disco."
"I think with Zumba as long as you've got a good beat and good lyrics like that song was by Meghan Trainor, I think it's brilliant," Brown continued, referring to her choice of song for the Zumba class.
"I think just being able to get your body moving, however you interpret it, whatever music, it just makes you a little bit happier," she added. "I think that's important."

Brown explained that her dance background is perhaps why she prefers Zumba classes to a gym workout.
"I was a dancer, trained as a dancer, but this is just so much more free and you can just put your own personality on it," she told PEOPLE. "It's a good way of keeping fit and moving, and that's what I love to do."
"I just like to look at the routine really quick and then just do it and then whatever happens happens because I've got an ADHD brain, so it kind of works with this kind of setting and this kind of Zumba flow."
During a panel discussion later that day, Brown opened up to Zumba's CMO Carolina Moraes and moderator Louise Gannon about her introduction to dance as a child.
"I couldn't really sit still as a kid. My mum managed to turn that into something that was actually doable and practicable if that's the word, so I fell in love with dance because it gave me a reason to be able to not sit still," Brown told the panel. "I ended up going to Northern School of Contemporary dance, which was a whole different type of dance."

She continued, "I was so attracted to it because I was able to move my body in all these different positions and be able to really like feel the intensity of it, and the more you practice the better you get at it."
"I think dance, it's really evolved now and everybody knows that to have like a good healthy mental state of mind you need to be able to move, you need to be able to get out in nature," said Brown. "You know you need to be able to do all those things, breathing the right oxygen, even as a singer, to learn how to breathe from your diaphragm, so you're using every part of your inner core, and that's why I love Zumba so much too because it's not so strict."
"When I was training as a dancer when I was like 9 or 10 years old back in the day, when you were allowed to kind of have a cane and whack, get your ankles whacked if it was a ballet step wrong, it was very like conformed," she added. "Whereas Zumba to me, as long as you know the basic steps, you can just do your own thing all over it, which is very, very freeing."
