Based on Rachel Reidâs Game Changers book series, Heated Rivalry was created by Jacob Tierney for Canadian streaming service Crave. It follows Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams), a Canadian hockey superstar, and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), a cocky Russian phenom, whose fierce on-ice rivalry turns into a secret, explosive hookup.
The steamy debut season was picked up by HBO Max shortly before its November 2025 premiere, and it has since become the platformâs top-rated non-animated acquired series and a top-five scripted debut of 2025, per Variety.
âThatâs not my stuff,â Stewart joked, adding that, âMobLandâs my stuff. Best thing on TV in 2025.â
She went on to name the stars of the Paramount+ crime drama: âPierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren?â she continued, naming the leads of Guy Ritchieâs Paramount+ drama.
âOh and Tom Hardy, heâs my man," the author quipped.

MobLand marks the second project that Brosnan and Mirren have worked on together in the past year â they also star in The Thursday Murder Club with Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.
