Based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, Heated Rivalry was created by Jacob Tierney for Canadian streaming service Crave. It follows Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams), a Canadian hockey superstar, and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie), a cocky Russian phenom, whose fierce on-ice rivalry turns into a secret, explosive hookup.

The steamy debut season was picked up by HBO Max shortly before its November 2025 premiere, and it has since become the platform’s top-rated non-animated acquired series and a top-five scripted debut of 2025, per Variety.

“That’s not my stuff,” Stewart joked, adding that, “MobLand’s my stuff. Best thing on TV in 2025.”

She went on to name the stars of the Paramount+ crime drama: “Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren?” she continued, naming the leads of Guy Ritchie’s Paramount+ drama.

“Oh and Tom Hardy, he’s my man," the author quipped.

The series follows two London crime families who are at war, with Brosnan and Mirren as the patriarch and matriarch of the Harrigans. Stuck in the middle is Hardy's character, a bounty hunter ready to fight for his own power.

MobLand marks the second project that Brosnan and Mirren have worked on together in the past year — they also star in The Thursday Murder Club with Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.
