Singer Ariana Grande has taken legal action against two hackers after they allegedly compromised personal digital accounts. According to legal documents, the accounts belonged to photographers and music producers who have worked closely with Grande over the years.
Ariana Grande Accuses Two People
The lawsuit has named two unknown people listed as “John Does.” The singer has accused them of hacking into various private accounts, which led to the “unlawful and egregious theft, dissemination, and exploitation of unreleased content,” according to documents obtained by Page Six.
The legal filing has explained in detail how the hackers accessed the unreleased songs, private video recordings, raw audio, and personal photographs. Since these files were never meant to be released to the public, the lawsuit called the cyberattack a “malicious invasion” of her privacy.
Moreover, the files that were stolen were allegedly put up for sale on the dark web for high prices. The lawsuit highlighted the massive scale of the breach: “In 2023 alone, 45 unreleased songs belonging to Ms. Grande were hacked, stolen, and leaked by Defendants. Since her music debut in 2011, hundreds of similar leaks have taken place.”
The court records also noted that the most recent hacking incident took place in 2024. Addressing the legal move, a source close to Grande told People, “The lawsuit is intended to serve as a deterrent against future acts of this nature.”
The insider also emphasized that this case is not just about Grande’s personal catalog, “Not only targeting Ariana, but also the many artists who have faced similar invasions of their privacy and theft of their creative work. Artists deserve the right to control how and when their art is shared with the world. The unlawful theft and distribution of creative work undermines that right and should not be tolerated.”
For the unversed, Ariana is not the first singer to face severe digital breaches. In 2014, pop icon Madonna also faced the same when the unreleased demo tracks from her Rebel Heart album were stolen and leaked by an Israeli hacker. The hacker was later arrested.

Similarly, in 2017, Charli XCX, too, suffered a massive online leak of her unreleased third studio album after hackers breached private drives, forcing her to scrap the project entirely.
Netizens React to Ariana Grande Suing Hackers
After the news broke that the God Is a Woman singer has filed a lawsuit against the anonymous hackers, many social media users rushed to support her decision.
Praising her for taking a stand, one fan wrote, “Queen behavior. Leaking music isn’t being a fan, it’s digital theft and invasion of privacy. Glad she’s taking them to court.”
Highlighting the legal strategy behind naming “John Does,” another user added, “This federal lawsuit is a major step. Filing against John Does is a tactical legal move to subpoena tech platforms, track down IPs, and figure out exactly who is behind these digital hacks.”
“Leaking unreleased music hurts both artists and fans, also economically impact on the producer,” commented one more.
