Jennifer Hudson is singing the praises of Kelly Clarkson.

The Jennifer Hudson Show host, 44, showed love to her fellow American Idol alum after Clarkson's announcement that her eponymous talk show was coming to an end after seven seasons on air.

On Friday, Feb. 6, Hudson shared her thoughts on the status of Clarkson's talk show while appearing at the premiere of her new animated film, Goat. “Kelly is amazing,” Hudson told Variety.

She added, “I wish her the absolute best. She’s done really well — and she’s a GOAT!”

Hudson's remarks come days after Clarkson, 43, announced on Feb. 2 that the current season of her talk show will be the last.

In a statement to Instagram, Clarkson expressed that she's "been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York."

“There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons," she wrote. "I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner."

The decision, Clarkson continued, will allow her to "prioritize" her kids. "This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’" she wrote. "Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives."

Hudson, who has a talk show of her own in The Jennifer Hudson Show, also supported fellow talk-show host Sherri Shepherd this past week. Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury announced on Feb. 2 that Shepherd's Sherri was canceled after four seasons. In an Instagram clip days later, Shepherd revealed that Hudson sent her flowers after the news broke.

"I'm so appreciative. I talked to Jennifer Hudson yesterday. She called me. I love her so much," she said. "She sent me these flowers that are just amazing. I sent her flowers too because she didn't get her flowers yet from me."

The Kelly Clarkson Show, which premiered in 2019 and has since won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, will continue airing through Fall of 2026 and will feature a slate of special guest hosts.
