Ex-CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin rips Megyn Kelly for ‘lies’ about her sex life

Former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin has hit back at Megyn Kelly after accusing the broadcaster of spreading "lies" about her sex life by falsely claiming she had admitted to sleeping with four men in a month.

Baldwin, 47, blasted Kelly in a lengthy Substack post on Sunday after the former Fox News star allegedly misrepresented one of her recent newsletters, insisting she had actually written about turning down four potential suitors – not sleeping with them.

The TV journalist said she only became aware of the controversy while flying to Los Angeles last week when someone called asking for comment on Kelly's remarks. "That is how I discovered that Megyn Kelly had devoted nearly nine minutes of her show this week to my most recent Substack – one she falsely claimed was about my having 'casual sex,'" Baldwin wrote.

"And as I sat there, heart pounding, stomach churning, suddenly feeling sick, I realized that she got the story completely wrong. Not a little wrong. The entire premise. Wrong. Most astoundingly, she cited me as the source," added Baldwin, who was previously married to British producer James Fletcher before filing for divorce in 2023.

In an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, which has since been made private, Kelly, 55, told her four million subscribers and guest co-hosts from the Ruthless podcast that Baldwin had once been a "serious news anchor" but now claimed, "Her work and her mission include banging four men in a month."

Baldwin's original Substack painted a very different picture. The veteran broadcaster described herself as "pretty d--- good" in bed and revealed she had recently attracted attention from four men on a dating app, including one who "used to run a country" and another who "literally flew in just to take me to dinner."

However, Baldwin also made clear that she had "Turned them all down. Every. Single. One" – a line she says Kelly left out entirely. "My last Substack was not about me having casual sex. It was about me choosing not to," Baldwin wrote.

"And yet, for nearly nine minutes, Megyn framed an entire discussion around a false account of my sex life and my bodily choices, alongside three men who cackled, laughed, and berated me." She also claimed the misinformation spread far beyond Kelly's podcast.

Baldwin wrote that Kelly repeated the false claims across her "many other social media and podcast accounts, and broadcast on SiriusXM," adding that the allegations "were clipped, posted, and syndicated by other outlets…[who] also never bothered to read my original Substack."

"This is Journalism 101," Baldwin said. "Instead, this is how a lie gets multiplied and multiplied and multiplied. And this is how reputations are ruined."

Kelly later acknowledged that she had not read Baldwin's full post before discussing it on air, but continued to mock the former CNN presenter. "Well, as it turns out, we should have paid to read the rest of her stupid Substack, which we didn't, because, who gives a s--t about Brooke Baldwin, to be honest?" Kelly said.

"And in the paid pieces of the article, she confesses she actually did not have casual sex with these men! It was all just a teaser to get you to pay to listen to her lame recitations about her life," she added.

The clash comes just weeks after Baldwin shared another deeply personal account on Substack, alleging she believes she was sexually assaulted during a spring break trip to Los Angeles when she was 21 after two older men allegedly slipped something into her drink.

She claimed she woke up on the bathroom floor of the Chateau Marmont hotel beside a man she did not know after accepting a drink from two men at a Beverly Hills bar.

Baldwin has also previously spoken out about her departure from CNN, alleging in a 2024 Vanity Fair essay that then-network president Jeff Zucker "wanted me out" after he rejected her request to remove what she described as a "bullying" producer from her team.
