Ella Langley took to her Instagram Stories to share that her hit track "Choosin' Texas" could potentially reach #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, which would effectively put her in a small pool of women in country music to ever achieve the feat

On Jan. 27, Langley revealed that her sophomore album, Dandelion, which Lambert helped produce, will release on April 10

Ella Langley is "Choosin' Texas," and Miranda Lambert, to relish in her recent successes.

The country music artist, 26, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Feb. 5, to detail the very real possibility of her viral track about the Lone Star State, co-written with Lambert, achieving the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100.

After sharing a screenshot of the chart, in which she currently trails at #2 just behind "Aperture" by Harry Styles, Langley wrote, "Y'all have put me in a position to do something only a few females in country music history have ever done."

In her next slide, she continued, "I'm being told we're neck and neck on getting the #1 and if we have one last push on iTunes we might make country music history!" Following that post with another tidbit that read, "Less than 10 women in country music have gotten a #1 on Billboard."

Though many women in country music have appeared on Billboard's other charts over the years, including Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Tammy Wynette, Crystal Gayle, Loretta Lynn, Roseanne Cash, The Judds and Tanya Tucker, Langley is correct to point out how much that pool shrinks when the conversation specifically focuses on the Hot 100 chart.

Only a few other country and country-adjacent songs in the history of the Hot 100 chart have made it to the top, as the list reflects a broad range of genres and has largely been dominated by pop and rap music in the modern day. Artists who have claimed the title in the past include Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Beyoncé.

After sharing that information, Langley posted a picture of herself and Lambert hugging alongside the caption, "I know we can do it ❤️." She concluded her series of Stories with one final message: "Let's do it for women & let's do it for country music 🫶🏻."

The duo has been becoming increasingly closer since their joint performance of "Kerosene" at the 2025 ACM Awards, with Lambert taking to Instagram after the performance to call Langley "my fellow dog-loving, country music soul sister."

Langley and Lambert's creative partnership isn't ending with "Choosin' Texas," however, as the latter was also tapped to help produce Langley's forthcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, which is due out on April 10.

On Jan. 27, Langley revealed the project on Instagram, writing, "So excited to finally announce thatmy sophomore album Dandelion will be out on April 10th & the title track is yours this Friday! Welcome to Dandelionland 💛." Just 3 days later, she shared that she will be touring Dandelion across the U.S. from May to August with supporting acts Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth.

Upon Langley announcing the record's release on social media, Lambert also took to her socials to share a message of support, writing, "Thank you Ella for 'Choosin Texas' (🙋‍♀️😘) to help you produce this amazing record. It’s been an honor working with you and Ben. I cherish your friendship sister. You are a Dandelion and I can’t wait for the world to hear this. ❤️"

Lambert's most recent solo project, 2025's Postcards from Texas, was nominated for best contemporary country album at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
