Fans have long speculated about what might bring Eli and Lani back to Salem. As Parade previously reported, Stowers and Archey were spotted on set in recent months, and their participation in behind-the-scenes content on the official Days of Our Lives social media has since fueled expectations that a return was only a matter of time.

The new promo now confirms that the fan-favorite couple is indeed heading back to Salem, though questions remain about how long their stay will last.

Eli and Lani were last seen together during the holiday season when they returned for the show’s 60th anniversary celebration. During The Dr. Tom Horton Free Clinic Gala, the couples revealed plans to expand their family before later reuniting with loved ones at Christmas.

Stowers first joined Days of Our Lives in 2015 as Lani Price. Initially believed to be the daughter of veteran character Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo), Lani later learned that her biological parents were actually Tamara’s sister Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and T.R. Coates (William Christian).

Archey joined the series in 2017 as Eli Grant, the grandson of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Over time, Eli and Lani emerged as one of the show’s most popular couples, and ultimately became the first black couple to have an on-screen wedding on Days of Our Lives, in 2020.

Stowers and Archey exited the soap full time in 2022, but have continued to return for guest appearances in the years since.

Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
