Christian Watson's extension will impact potential Michael Wilson deal
The Arizona Cardinals have plans of giving wide receiver Michael Wilson a contract extension. He enters the final year of his contract, and he is coming off a career season in which he set career-highs in receptions (78), receiving yards (1,006) and touchdowns (7).
However, that new deal might now cost the Cardinals a bit more than expected.
The Green Bay Packers and receiver Christian Watson agreed to a four-year extension worth $110 million, with a $31 million signing bonus.
Watson has not accomplished what Wilson has. He has three seasons with over 600 receiving yards. His best season for receptions is 41. He has missed games every season.
Now, his role is expected to increase in 2026, but these are his career numbers in four seasons:

133 receptions, 2,264 yards, 20 touchdowns
Here are Wilson's numbers in three seasons:
163 catches, 2,119 yards, 14 touchdowns
Wilson has similar numbers to Watson in one fewer season, and Watson got an extension averaging $27.5 million.
How much is Wilson going to cost? It won't be cheap, for sure.
