Fox has become synonymous with her bold fashion and makeup choices
Julia Fox is once again proving herself to be a jack of all trades.
At the New York City premiere of her new film Idiotka on Thursday, Feb. 5, Fox's costar Anna Baryshnikov told PEOPLE that the Uncut Gems actress was highly involved in the styling of her character, Emma Wexler.
"She's incredible. Every day she walked on set, she helped really curate what she was wearing," said Baryshnikov, 33. "She did her own makeup. The energy she brought to set was incredible."
The actress added that Fox, 36, was " so supportive" of the movie's director, Nastasya Popov.
"I think it's a really big deal that she lends her talent and her name towards emerging artists of all kinds, emerging designers and emerging filmmakers," Baryshnikov continued. "I just think she's one of our best."
In the irreverent comedy, Baryshnikov plays Margarita, a disgraced fashion designer facing financial issues who enters a reality show with a six-figure cash prize to save her babushka’s West Hollywood apartment.

"But as the competition intensifies, slick producer Nicol (Camila Mendes) pushes her to spin her family’s struggle into spectacle, forcing Margarita to decide whether to play along or take control of her own narrative, one unhinged look at a time," reads an official synopsis.
Fox plays one of the reality show's judges, alongside Benito Skinner and Saweetie.
In October, the Down the Drain author, who has made headlines for her daring style choices, opened up to The Sunday Times about a shopping spree during which she spent over $60,000 on designer items in one trip.
"I used my man’s credit card in a mania, spent $68,000 in a night and bought hundreds of Chanel, YSL, Pucci, Mugler, Christian Lacroix, Alexander McQueen and Versace pieces," Fox said when asked about the priciest thing she's ever purchased.
However, the actress and model ended up getting rid of the items once she was single again.
"I had to sell them all when he dumped me," she shared.
Although Fox, who now identifies as pansexual, didn't name her then-partner, she did briefly touch upon her quick marriage to pilot Peter Artemiev, with whom she shares son Valentino, 4, when asked about an outfit she'll "never forget."
"I got married in Vegas on a whim in 2018," she recalled. "I wore bedazzled Steve Madden shoes, which I’d bought the same day, and a white DaisyLtd sundress that I had in my luggage. He wore a red shirt with pin-up girls all over it and cowboy boots. It was perfect."
